How you can have your fairy tale wedding in a beautiful marquee

Wedding reception marquees

You have always wanted that dream wedding - the flowers, the beautifully tiered cake, gorgeous bridesmaids, the white dress fit for a princess, and being beside your lifelong partner.  Most people tend to have always had some sort of idea of what they would like their special wedding day to be like. Everything has been looked into and made sure that it is perfect from the cars you hire to your wedding rings. Your special day is about to arrive, and to add that perfect final finish why not make your grand entrance as a newly married couple in an elegant wedding reception marquee.

Marquees for weddings have been popular for many years, but now they can really be designed just for you so that your venue has exactly what you have always wanted.  There are many benefits to having wedding marquees, for example, you can be clever with the space that you have - you can arrange tables, chairs and your dancefloor in any form that you would like and you can cater for more people than you would in other common types of venues. If you are the type of person who likes special attention to detail, then with a wedding reception marquee you can put your own stamp on it. Ideally you will be able to have a say over many things, whether it be having lights on the dance floor, chair covers, table design, colour coding from ceiling to floor, and many more.

Other benefits include:
-          Sound: it is very common that there are some restrictions on venues where volumes can only reach a certain level. With a wedding reception marquee you won’t have to worry about this, and you can party all night long with the volume as high as you like

-          Alcohol: this is another expensive factor, and can sometimes have limitations on what there is to offer. With a wedding marquee you can add your own touch and include a range of wine or other beverages of your choice

-          Catering: venues often have set menus, but if you feel as though you fancy  change, or want to add something different you can have whatever type of food you would like

-          Budget: in general, wedding reception marquees tend to cost less than hiring out another type of venue, so in this way they are cost effective plus you aren’t limited to what you can have

Having a marquee for your big day could really be the answer to a lot of your problems. There are a variety of locations that you can choose from, and you will be able to really bring your dreams to life.

Trafalgar Marquees boast a range of extravagant marquees for weddings, and have plenty of pictures for you to look at our gallery to get some ideas of what you would like on your special day as a newlywed couple. For more information you can visit http://www.trafalgar-marquees.co.uk/weddings

How to Create a Party Wherever and Whenever you Want

What if we told you there was a way to party wherever and whenever you wanted?  Within reason of course, as it is not possible to trespass and there is such a thing as appropriate timing, but we think we’ve got the perfect solution to your party planning – customisable party venues.

We’re referring of course to the humble marquee – the flexible, giant tent-like structure that has become a popular venue choice for weddings, parties and business events.  These adaptable structures provide the perfect response to the unpredictable British weather and give party-goers the opportunity to party night and day, come rain or shine.

The only party you’re probably concentrating on at the moment is the office Christmas party or your plans for New Year’s Eve, but if you think a little further ahead into next year, what celebrations are on the cards?

A party marquee is the perfect place to hold an
event for a:

·         Wedding Reception

·         Birthday Party

·         Wedding Anniversary

·         Surprise Party

·         Business Event – such as product launch, training event or anniversary

The great thing about a marquee event is that the venue is temporary, so provided you have permission to use the land, you can customise the venue to meet your needs.

How can you make your marquee event unique?

·        Choose furniture that meets the needs of your event type and the number of guests – i.e. round tables, long tables, plain seating, seats with chair covers and stands for promotional materials.

·        Select the most appropriate lighting – from chandeliers to fairy lights and groovy disco lighting, a marquee hire specialist can help you choose the most suitable lights to give your venue the desired ambience.

·        Customise your decoration – the marquee is basically a blank canvas onto which you can add lighting, bunting, banners, balloons, flowers and all manner of decorative extras to bring colour, branding and style to your marquee event.

·        Lay it out as you like – once you know how much floor space is available, how many guests you are inviting and what you need the space for i.e seating, dance floor or presentation area, you can choose the best layout to accommodate your needs and give your guests an event worth remembering.

Remember that with a marquee event you get to choose where your venue is located, how it looks and what facilities it provides to guests.  The only difficult thing is deciding on your themes and colour schemes, though that it is a fairly enjoyable task!

Practical Tips for the Perfect Wedding Reception

When you first sit down to plan a wedding reception it may suddenly seem a daunting prospect, with a hundred and one things to think about. Here are a five top tips to help you plan the perfect party for you and your guests.

Venue

Bricks and mortar or a wedding marquee? A marquee has many advantages over the more traditional venues. You can hire one for a date that suits you, and you can have it erected just about anywhere: in your own garden, inside an old tram station, or any other setting where you have permission to do so. Wedding marquees come in all sizes, so depending on how big or small your guest list is, you’ll always have the perfect space to party.

Timeline

Map out what’s meant to happen and when – and try and stick to it. If things start to drift, your guests can get restless, so be firm with the photographer about how long he or she has; make sure the ceremony starts on time and let everyone know when the reception will get underway. There are certain traditions you may want to adhere to, such as the bride and groom’s entrance, first dance, the toasts, cutting the cake, the garter toss, and exit, but try not to add too many extras. After the meal, you and your guests are ready to party!

Music and Lighting

By all means give the band or DJ a list of songs you want played, but remember that they are professional entertainers and will be able to judge when to up the tempo and get everyone dancing, and when to slow things down. Subtle lighting helps guests to relax. If you’re holding your reception in a wedding marquee it’ll be easy to create a more relaxed, and informal atmosphere, with some well placed lights. People are more likely to get up and boogie if it’s not too bright. You can always turn the lights up for a short while if you’re having a video made.

Temperature

Reception rooms or halls can quickly become hot and stuffy, or even too cool due to the air-con being cranked up. Modern wedding marquees are ideal for keeping things at a comfortable level, which is light and airy and helping to energise you and your guests!

Go with the Flow

You’ve got the masterplan of the big day worked out but don’t expect everything to go like clockwork – remember, it’s a reception not a military exercise! If there are a few hold-ups or hitches here and there, so what? It’s your big day, and one you want to enjoy and remember for all the right reasons, so don’t allow yourself to get stressed by tiny details.

Tips On Working Out Marquee Hire Surrey Prices

More and more people are choosing to hire a marquee for their event.  Whether they are organising a wedding, a family party, a corporate event or perhaps a summer fete, then ensuring they stay within the set budget is often crucial.

Marquee hire Surrey prices will vary according to the size of the marquee.  Generally speaking, events which require guests to be seated will require 15 square feet per person and events where guests will be mingling will require just 8 square feet per person.  Of course, the purpose of the marquee will also affect which size would be most suitable, as a marquee which will be used to house stalls for a summer fete will require lots of room for large numbers of guests to be able to move around comfortably.

When looking to hire a marquee, it’s important to establish the approximate costs before deciding which package would be most suitable.  Some packages will include the hire of the appropriate flooring, heating and lighting, whereas other packages will charge those as additional items.  Specially designed dance floors can also be hired if needed, and the cost of this will again depend on the size of the marquee.

Most marquee hire Surrey prices will include the setting up and then dismantling of the marquee.  For smaller marquees this will take less than a day, however larger marquees may take a day or two longer.  Constructing marquees takes skill and knowledge and therefore needs to be carried out by professionals who can ensure they are put up safely.  Many marquee hire companies will put up the marquee a few days before the event if possible, to allow for time to decorate the interior.

Marquees can vary hugely in price, with some costing just £400 whereas others can cost thousands of pounds.  The average cost of a marquee will cost between £20 and £30 per guest, so multiplying that figure by the number of guests will give you an approximate guide as to the cost of the marquee hire.

The Freedom of Marquee Weddings

Marquees have grown to be one of the most popular wedding venues chosen by couples in the United Kingdom, the main reason being that a marquee practically presents you with a blank canvas to create your ideal wedding event. As well as giving almost unlimited choice in terms of decorations, marquee weddings also give you the flexibility to pitch your venue wherever you like, within reason (as long as the ground is flat and level).

Decorating a marquee for a wedding can be a lot of fun as it offers you a great deal of freedom. As wedding marquee hire tents are most commonly white, they are quite literally a blank canvas for your creativity, giving you a lot of room to establish your own personality in the décor of your special venue. A plain, white marquee gives you the perfect opportunity to fill it with colour, from furniture, to lighting, coloured fabric or even balloons.

Wedding marquee hire companies usually have extensive options when it comes to decorating your wedding marquee, and can therefore offer a completely bespoke service, catering for your personality and tastes by providing all of the elements that you want for your big day. Marquee weddings allow you to arrange furniture however you wish, perhaps even creating different areas within a marquee. As well as tables and seating, you could also include a chill out area for guests, decorated with comfy sofas and pictures of the bride and groom.

One of the biggest draws of marquee weddings is that they allow you a diverse choice of setting, so it very likely that you can choose a really beautiful place to get married. A marquee can be put up practically anywhere with fairly flat and level ground, on both grass and hard surfaces, providing there is enough room. Many people choose to get married in a large garden, or a field, but the possibilities of location are huge. Clearspan marquees have no central poles, allowing marquees to be erected around small trees, or even a pond, swimming pool or water feature to act as a central focal point of the marquee.

For a particularly striking wedding setting, you could consider having your wedding marquee erected in a place with a sea view, or perhaps a backdrop of natural beauty. Marquees with large clear sides or even an open marquee can help you to make the most of the view.

The Different Designs Of Wedding Marquees

Many people do not give a second thought as to the different designs of marquees.  However when it comes to choosing a marquee for a specific event, such as a wedding, there are actually a whole range of designs which can benefit different scenarios.  For example, a traditional marquee usually has beautiful swooping lines and is held up with two supporting poles on the inside which can be decorated accordingly. This gives a very romantic setting to the event and is commonly used for wedding receptions.

A Chinese hat marquee is a little smaller and very often doesn’t have walls, meaning they can be accessed by guests very easily.  A large wedding reception may require a Chinese hat marquee to be placed in front of or to the side of the main marquee – this is particularly useful if the couple are having a feature such as an evening hog roast or a BBQ at a summer reception where guests may prefer to be outdoors.

Alternatively, framed marquees may be hired.  This means that the marquee is held up using an aluminium frame as opposed to the traditional centre poles and ropes.  The advantage to this method is that the guests have an unobstructed view of the inside of the marquee, which is fantastic for wedding speeches.  Optimum space can be used as no guy ropes are needed, which in effect means the framed marquee can be set up anywhere, including courtyards and even roof terraces.

Most wedding marquee hire Sussex firms, including ourselves, will utilise traditional marquees for customer events.  Marquees can come in a variety of sizes and should be hired according to the number of guests who will be invited to the event.  The marquees provide an enclosed space for the guests to protect them from the elements, yet the plastic windows within the walls means that as much natural light as possible can be allowed to infiltrate the marquee.  Only 5 feet of space will be needed around the perimeter of the marquee to allow for the guy ropes and pegs.

Organising Your Corporate Event with a Marquee Hire Company

When organising a corporate event, you will no doubt have a number of specific requirements, so it is important to consult a corporate marquee hire company that have the experience to make your corporate needs a reality.

In order to create a successful corporate event, it is advisable to involve a corporate marquee hire company from the initial concept stage, right through the disassembly of your marquee. The passion of a marquee hire team is to be working with you at every step of the way throughout the event project, so that they can take the time to properly understand the specifics and intricacies of the event, and your overall objectives of what you would like the event to achieve.

Once your team member has a full understanding of your project requirements, they can then communicate them clearly to their team to ensure that your corporate marquee at the very least meets your expectations. It may be that you are unsure about some elements of planning your event, and on these occasions, corporate event companies can use their extensive experience and expertise to make suggestions to guide you in the right direction.

Most successful marquee hire companies have an extremely vast variety of options when it comes to marquees and equipment. For example, as well as having access to marquees of many different sizes to suit all types of events, most marquee hire firms will be able to provide extensive choice in furniture and soft furnishings, lighting, flooring and other decorations, ranging from bars to staging and dance floors.

A good corporate marquee hire company builds their business on being able to provide everything you need, no matter what special requirements you may have for your corporate event. To make sure that everything goes to plan, they will be accessible at all times in case there is a need to make changes to the event at the last minute, or even to make minor changes on site.
